a road trip in a joopified vw van sounds like a GROOVY way to travel man! i'll bring the brownies

counting down with the joopers!

Hi Sweet, nice to hear from you! I'm excited about the Sayid episode, too. I've noticed that when the show focuses on him, the "island story" always seems to take giant leaps, even going back to the first season. I can't wait!

And LOL, you can take a road trip with us in the Joopified van any time you like.

Captain, I believe you! I'm getting so excited I'm starting to foam at the mouth and shake at the hands and knees. I'm sweating behind the neck and any minute now my armpits might burst into flame.

And guess what? I don't have to work next Thursday! My boss approved my time off request. I can stay up late and talk LOST next Wednesday night as long as I want, and I can talk LOST all day the next day if I feel like it. Yipppeeeeee!!!!!!!!

I think ABC should be required to provide letters to employers explaining the reason everyone is one hour late to work on Thursday morning is because they moved Lost to 10 pm.

On second thought, maybe Sayid doesn't ask questions of anyone. Maybe he just sort of asks the question to himself and goes investigating.

But wait!

Wednesday, March 7: 10:00
Episode 3.11: "Enter 77"
--Sayid-Centric-- Guest starring (among others): possibly Mira Furlan as Danielle Rousseau. Written by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. Directed by Stephen Williams.

Danielle appears in the Sayid episode, so perhaps he asks her some questions. But can she give him answers?!

LMAO!

Instead of people calling in sick on Thursdays, perhaps they should start calling in LOST.

Zen sneaks into the thread with her best Roger Daltrey voice "Every day I get in the queue
Too much, Magic Bus
To get on the bus that takes me to you
Too much, Magic Bus
I'm so nervous, I just sit and smile
Too much, Magic Bus
You house is only another mile

Good morning, Joopers. Happy Wednesday!

7 days
16 hours
45 minutes
57 seconds

LOL, I had this crazy tinfoil hat idea. What if the Lost islands really are inside a snow globe, only the snow is outside the globe. The catastrophically screwed part is that the purple sky thingy caused a small tear in the globe and soon it will get bigger. The temperature on the beach will drop. And drop. And drop. Brrrrrr....

But since I'm here, WAKE UP EVERYBODY! Put on a sparkly, fringed dress and dance around the kitchen while you're waiting for the breakfast toast!

*Rosie puts on sparkly (but not too sparkly) dress with fringe (but not too much ) and dances and hums nicely and easily so as not to glitter too much to be noticed in the corner*

Um...had to speak up...I've been power-cord-less for my laptop for 3 WHOLE DAYS cuz my puppy chewed the old one, and I haven't had enough battery to do anything but check in and it's been KILLING me, even though I don't talk very much! *giant sigh of relief*

And ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT!!!

(you'll probably never hear me yell again. sorry. too excited)...

*runs around, hugs everyone before they knew what hit them, and runs back into dark corner*

LOL, Lil Rosie, thanks for the laugh and for the hug. You are cracking me up.

Sorry to hear about your power cord, but I'm glad the puppy is okay and didn't get a shock. Puppies can sure get into mischief, can't they? Even when you watch them every second they can still find ways to make merry with their curiosity-driven little selves.

Hi everyone! Six days to go! I think i'd better turn my tv on now and get settled in so I don't miss anything.

I'm vowing to stay away from any spoilers.

Almost done with Watchmen -- can't wait to discuss.

Anyone have any predictions?

Bg, should our next home be a giant Partridge Familyesque bus? I can paint a groovy mural if I get started now.

Hi Lucky, I've taken your advice and turned up the heat. Now the icesicles around the edge of my tinfoil hat are starting to drip.

As for predictions ala Watchmen, I've got so many I'm about to explode.

A giant Partridge Familyesque bus? I love the idea of a groovy mural, but I was thinking maybe something a little more Cheech and Chong. For some reason, the grown-up Danny Partridge gives me the willies. I worry that he may see us sail past in a Partridge Familyesque bus and have a flipout or something. I wouldn't want that on my conscience.

Good morning, Joopers! TGIF!

...5 days 16 hours 40 minutes 53 seconds...

From David Pogue, 'Circuits' columnist at the New York Times. An Ode to YouTube sung to the tune of Sonny and Cher's immortal classic, "I Got You Babe."

They say we're young, don't watch TV;
They say the Internet is all we see.
But that's not true; they've got it wrong.
See, all our shows are just two minutes long...

Hey...
I got YouTube.
I got YouTube.

They say Gen X won't follow news,
The New York Times can only stand to lose!
If all the papers go away,
How will we learn the stories of the day?

Dude-
We got YouTube.
We got YouTube.

I got movie parodies...
Funny ads from overseas...
Webcams of kids! On air guitar!
Anything funny, all messed up, or bizarre!

(Key change!)

So let them say Google overpaid;
I say they got the better of the trade.
Just throw your HDTV aside-
The future's on a screen three inches wide...

Yay!
I got YouTube-
Make that GooTube!

I can watch "The Daily Show"...
Just the parts I need to know!
Lots of music, lots of laughs,
Politicans' latest gaffes,
LonelyGirls and music vids,
Cameraphones and "Star Wars" kids!
Copyrights get stomped a bit,
But kids my age don't give a-
..uh, care a whit!

Dude!
I got YouTube.
I got YouTube.
I got YouTube.

Calling all book club participants!

I think everyone has now finished reading Watchmen and we can talk freely about it without using the spoiler courtesy space.

Let the discussion begin!

My first contribution: I'm wondering if Desmond experienced a transformation when the hatch imploded similar to Dr. Manhattan's. If this is true, then what about Locke and the late Mr. Eko?

I was thinking the same thing about Desmond as Dr Manhattan. His waking up naked and later 'seeing' the future--what else can he do?

Remember when Mittlewerk said something like 'What if you could end war, poverty, disease?' And we discussed what could possibly end all these things? What if he was talking about creating a Dr Manhattan-like entity--a man with almost godlike abilities?

Hi Captain, interesting thought about Mittelwerk and creating a man with almost god-like qualities. Could it be that the "whole hatch thing" was about finding a person altruistic and brave enough to use that failsafe key "to keep the world from blowing up"?

I'm not saying the entire hatch thing was a charade, but it occurred to me that if you wanted to create a Dr. Manhattan with almost god-like powers and abilities, and if the implosion thingy could create such a being, then it would be better to have someone with a rather noble heart and mind. A willingness to turn the failsafe key would be the ultimate "screening" test of someone's character. Does this make sense?

I agree that Des has a purity of character that would make him perfect to become mankind's protector.

I wonder if one of the intentions of DI was to explore psychic abilities as they were influenced by EM in an attempt to one day harness a Dr M type power. DI failed, but then through a series of 'random' events, Des comes to the island, is exposed to the EM for 3 years, then through the failsafe, becomes what they were originally trying to create. It's an interesting play on the science/fate theme.
