Rabbit's FootI remember back in season 1, I was making a joke when I wrote that with all the rabbit references, obviously the show was all about reproduction. Little did I know...Rabbits, luck, reproduction, magic, underground--interesting ties to the show.
Hi Captain, your ideas are always ahead of their time! If there's anyone ahead of the curve, it's you. Reproduction sure seems to be one the major themes. Any connection with Watchmen? No, wait, don't tell me. I don't want to be spoiled. I know you're wishing we would all hurry up with our reading. I think I'll go dig in and read a few more chapters.

Interesting information concerning rabbit's feet Bg ! I never realized that there was so much folklore dealing with them. Captain brings up some great connections also. I just wanted to add, the episode " White Rabbit " and the little white bunny with the number 8 on it, that Ben had. Hmmm....Also thank you for not thinking the tsunami incident, was too far of a stretch. With your ideas included, I think that it is a great possiblity now.

Hi all,Thanks so, so much for all of your kind words. I really appreciate them. It's a bummer, but worse things can happen. What's a few hundred screencaps of maps, wires, and kids in scuba gear in the scheme of things? And LOL, my empty computer is running like a dream now.I read on one of the spoiler threads that 9/11 is indeed the time reference. I wonder how they'll manage this in terms of the show - it had better be with great sensitivity.Re: the rabbit's foot: "Rabbit's Foot" was the code name for the WMD in JJ's Mission Impossible, apparently. They never revealed what the weapon actually was, just that it was a "Doomsday" weapon. Since that movie was supposed to be laden with Lost clues, maybe this is an indirect suggestion that the keys on the chain are related to the SS? Just because they find a car, doesn't neccessarily mean these are the car key, although I agree, it seems likely.

Hi Seek, I'm rethinking all this, and now I'm wondering if TPTB might be referring to a real world catastrophe that will soon be represented on LOST instead of something that's in the past. Well, since we're in 2007 it's in our past, but it would be yet to come, island time, where it's late fall, 2004. Q: Is it hard to keep track of the fact that for the characters, so little time has passed, while we've been watching it for years? Lindelof: No, in fact it's going to become a huge part of the storytelling in season three; that sort of disconnect. We felt the need to remind the audience that was in fact the case with the Red Sox game, and just basically say, 'Here on the island it's just November of 2004.' You know, we just sort of passed Thanksgiving. Oh my! Captain, I'm stunned. That is extremely interesting. I wish this show would hurry up and peel back more onion layers. All these ancient gods and goddesses are fascinating and I want to see some on LOST.

Hooray! Lucky, I'm glad you're back!Somehow I missed the spoiler reference to 9-11. The only thing I've seen regarding 9-11 was in a long transcript of the abc nightline show featuring JJ, Damon, and Carlton. In that show, there was a lot of discussion about the entire show having a 9-11 subtext, but no mention of anything explicit. http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/story?id=2553741&page=9And LOL, I've never seen anything about Mission Impossible containing LOST clues. This is too wild. Forgive me for being skeptical, but it sounds like JJ trying to drum up dvd sales for MI3. But I like the idea that the keys might be related to the smoke. Perhaps the person clutching the key was headed toward the smoke on-off switch and the smoke figured it out and stopped them, killing them dead. This seems very plausible, IMHO.

I wonder if the other 49 percent of what we thought was going on is the that the outside world is going thru some weird climate change and that where ever they really are was actually at one time a warmer place ?? I think that would throw people off and nobody would think of that ! Any thoughts ?

LOL, captain now that is a Twist ! Something is definitly up if TPTB suggested that we are off on that scene. One of us has to be close, hmm ? Bg : The only thing I came up with was that the two guys are in a plane. The shot out of the window looked sort of like a shot out of an airplane window. LOL, Seek, regarding the airplane thing, thanks for not thinking I'm crazy. I'm going to pull out the dvd and rewatch the scene on a bigger screen. So much of the detail gets lost in the little youtuber. Maybe something else will strike me, although I think it's going to be hard to come up with something more twisty than Captain's big twist.

They may be in a plane, but it is on the ground (IMO)and has been coverted into housing (another hint it is on the island?). Thanks Captain for the screenshots ! Very interesting indeed. It most certainly does look like a plane, and it is most likely converted into some kind of house/shelter ! What are your thoughts about it being on the Island ? Are you thinking of some kind of time gap/rift or something like that ? Is that why it is snowing with them but not with the Losties ? Sorry to not get what your putting down, but I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Interesting....If you enlarge the page you can see something like this:Line 3: Responsibilities of Emergency Coordinator and Safety Monitors.Line 4: ..........Signaling Building occupants in case of fire or other emergency.Line 5:.....Procedures for Building occupants.Line 8: .......... Procedures for Emergency Evacuation.Sounds more like a complex, or at the very least a large building.

It snows in Hawaii on the highest peaks. So snow in the tropics is not unheard of. (Mostly, this was just me playing 'what if...') I try to stay away from time travel/dimensional rift theories--that way lies madness More about assumptions about the Penny scene.We assume the events on the island are causing the anomoly that the guys are detecting. But this event could be happening in the past or the future, they could be detecting something else altogether.We assume that because we saw Penny, she is real and in the world. But wouldn't Desmond, thinking he was going to die, imagine the most wonderful thing possible--that Penny had found him and was coming to rescue him? Maybe his wanting it so desperately (and a big ole EM explosion) made it so. Maybe with a thought, he created a new outside world.
